DellardOS is a 32-bits distro and as a result,
it will not work on a UEFI computer. (Windows 8/10 certified computers)

In addition, proprietary Wifi drivers were removed from DellardOS.
If you own in particular a Broadcomm, then it won't be supported.

Preparing DellardOS

First of all, you need to burn the ISO file to a CD/DVD or a USB key.

To burn the ISO file to a CD, it's simple :
Windows: we recommend ImgBurn.
GNU/Linux: use K3b, Brasero or XfBurn.

If you don't know how, you should read this guide

To burn the ISO file to a USB key :
Windows: we recommend Rufus.
GNU/Linux: use the DD command-line.

Using the DD command-line is simple but if not careful,
YOU CAN DESTROY YOUR COMPUTER.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED !

The DD syntax looks like this:
sudo dd if=dellardOSv03.iso of=yourusbdevice

yourusbdevice is typically /dev/sdb but it can be different.
To make sure /dev/sdb is really the device you want to write to, use Gparted.

Installing DellardOS on a computer

Insert the CD/USB key to your computer and power it on.
Depending on the BIOS/Computers, it may not boot your CD/USB key.
Sometimes you have to press a button. (It can be F10, F11, F12, F1 etc...)

If you press that button, a menu should show up when you can choose
the device you want to boot.

Sometimes though, it does not work like this.
On some computers, you will have to access the BIOS parameters.
Inside the BIOS, you should be able to change the order of the devices it boots.
If you are really a newbie, then perhaps you should ask on a forum or read the manual.

After a few seconds/minutes, you should see this :

The user is root and the password is root.
After you logged in, you should have a Desktop.

Once you're done messing around with it,
you can install it by opening a terminal and type dellardosinstall.

WARNING:
THIS WILL ERASE EVERYTHING ON YOUR COMPUTER
IF THIS IS NOT WHAT YOU WANT, STOP RIGHT NOW !

To install it, follow all the instructions.

The program will let you know when it's done.
After DellardOS is installed, shutdown and remove the CD/USB key.

Power on your computer, it should show a GRUB menu with DellardOS being listed.

Have fun with DellardOS !
